Hi All,
Most amusing anecdote:
 
Years ago there was a conference in France to assign Channel fishing
rights. One issue was particularly contentious. The French decided it
had to be left to the local fishermen to sort out. The French spokesman
said, "Il faut que nous comptons sur la sagesse Normande." The French
translator rendered this as, "We must rely on Norman Wisdom." The French
were baffled when the British collapsed in helpless laughter.
